About NJLT and our Founder - Dennis Mann
NJLT was created in 2010 to drive higher levels of coaching and training to support the fastest growing sport in America. Players and parents consistently feel that there are not enough experienced coaches in the lacrosse world and players are often exposed to sub par experiences on the field. Our staff not only has played at the highest level but they have coached, trained and played with and against the best players in the world. All of our staff members continue to play lacrosse and will forever be students of the game. Our coaches are selected for their ability to play the game and by their abilities to instruct the lacrosse players of tomorrow.
Coach Mann began his lacrosse journey playing lacrosse in Delaware County Pennsylvania. "Delco" is a hotbed for Pennsylvania lacrosse and is home to some of the best players and teams in the nation. He left his mark at Haverford High School as one of the most decorated lacrosse players in school history. He moved on to play for the Pioneers at Widener University in 2002. Coach Mann notched an astounding 149 goals with a shooting percentage of over 60% and over 200points in his 4 years at Widener. Coach Mann was recognized 3 years as an all Middle Atlantic Conference Attackman along with many other accolades including his rank as the #4 leading goal scorer in school history which he still holds to this day. As the teams leading goal scorer, Coach Mann led the Pioneers to 3 MAC Championships and 3 NCAA Playoffs.
After graduating from Widener, he started his professional career as a teacher in Media Pennsylvania. While teaching, Coach Mann was given an opportunity to join the coaching staff of the Jaguars at Garnet Valley High School (ranked #6 in the state) as their offensive coordinator and goalie coach. The following season he joined the coaching staff at Hillsborough High School in NJ as the Offensive Coordinator and Goalie Coach. While coaching at Hillsborough, Coach Mann received his NFHS Lacrosse Coaching Certification for the state of New Jersey. After four seasons teaching and coaching he chased an opportunity to join the Universal Lacrosse Company.
While working at Universal Lacrosse, countless hours have been spent instructing private lessons, small group training, consulting with local teams and spending his summers directing and coaching at camps and clinics. Drawing from his teaching experience he designs every lacrosse lesson for NJLT like he is delivering a lesson in the classroom. Developing a benchmark for the players ability, introducing new skills, then testing to ensure the player comprehends the new skill before introducing more skills.
Coach Mann selects and trains every coach for NJLT to guarantee that members of his staff will provide the highest level training for every player who trains with NJLT.
