Shooting Lessons
Do you want the ball in your stick in OVERTIME and be confident that you can stick that last shot of the game? No matter what position you play, shooting the ball has to be one of the most important and exciting skills that a lacrosse player can posess. The skill set used to shoot the ball directly relates to throwing passes. Dont think because you are not an offensive player that this isnt for you, remember that the 2010 Mens Division 1 National Championship was won in overtime by a Long Pole. On some teams, the entire offensive game strategy surrounds getting the ball to a single player who can place the ball in the back of the net. We teach shooting that starts with form and trains players to improve their shooting abilities by teaching them how to shoot with their entire body which results in a harder and more accurate shot. Couple that with increasing the players shooting IQ by teaching them how to take the most effective shots and each player is provided the ability to become a great shooter. Being a great shooter directly relates to playing time, the ability to finish shots cannot be ignored by any coach. Shooting lessons will cover and are not limited to:
